Optical Component Companies Join Forces to Build a Revolutionary Product
White Plains, NY-November 1, 2004 – Prima Luci Inc., a cutting edge optical component company and Covega Corporation, a leading provider of optical components and modules to Fortune 500 customers, announced today that they were joining forces to produce an All-Optical Dispersion Corrector.
In February 2004 Prima Luci achieved a major milestone, by prototyping their Dispersion Corrector that can operate at speeds of up to 160 Gbps, and can optically correct Chromatic Dispersion (CD) and Polarization Mode Dispersion (PMD) simultaneously.
Covega is manufacturing engineering samples for Prima Luci that have been ordered by several major optical system manufacturers. This next generation prototype will be produced on a single monolithically integrated Indium Phosphide chip having a size smaller than 1mm x 1mm and costing up to 90% less that other solutions currently available.
